Create a timeline with separate owners
Put the purchase and the journey on one line, but keep their stages separate. A delay becomes much easier to investigate when you can identify the most recent completed step and who controls the next one.
| Stage | Useful evidence | Question to resolve |
|---|---|---|
| Seller preparation | Written availability or dispatch confirmation | Is this item ready to send or awaiting production? |
| Delivery inside China | Domestic carrier events and warehouse receipt | Has the warehouse actually received this order? |
| Warehouse review and packing | Item photos, your decision and parcel record | Are specifications and the final packing instruction settled? |
| International handover and transport | Dispatch record and carrier acceptance event | When does this service begin counting transit time? |
| Destination processing and delivery | Clearance and local carrier events | Is information needed, or is the parcel awaiting delivery? |
Keep the platform's published sequence in proportion
Pikobuy's guide separates product payment, warehouse checks and international shipping payment. It says tracking becomes available within three days after dispatch; that is not a three-day delivery commitment. Source: Pikobuy buying guide.
A packed parcel can still require a handover before the transport clock starts. FedEx, for example, explains that its delivery timing starts with a package scan rather than label creation. Apply the actual selected line's rules; do not transfer one carrier's definition to every service. Source: FedEx label and timing explanation.
Working days need a calendar
A number expressed in working days cannot simply be added to today's date. Find out which weekends and holidays are excluded and whether the stated range includes customs handling and final delivery. An estimate without those answers is useful for comparing options, but incomplete for planning an event.
Keep an earliest and a latest planning date, and label both as estimates. If a seller has not confirmed dispatch, leave that stage unresolved rather than entering zero days. Do the same for a pending measurement, a requested replacement or a packing decision. Waiting for another purchase to consolidate is a buyer decision that also adds time.
Work backwards from the date that matters
For a wedding, trip or stock launch, write down the date you actually need the goods in hand. Allow time to inspect them after arrival. Then ask whether the available service can support that schedule from the current stage. A broad advertised range should not be treated as a guarantee at its shortest end.
If the plan depends on every uncertain stage finishing at once, change the plan before paying: choose goods with confirmed readiness, reduce unresolved options or reconsider the required date. No estimate here promises that a late order will make a fixed event.
When progress stops, ask about the missing event
Instead of asking only “When will it arrive?”, ask “What event are we waiting for, who is responsible for it, and is any action required from me?” Attach the order or parcel reference and the last dated event. The tracking guide explains how to distinguish an unscanned label from a parcel already in the carrier network.
