Sourcing for Vinted? Read the Selling Rules First

Quick answer

Do not place a wholesale order on the assumption that you can sell the new inventory on Vinted. The account type and the nature of the goods both matter. The policy review below covers the UK rules and Vinted's corporate explanation; it is not a policy clearance for every country.

First decide what activity you are planning

Clearing clothes you already own and buying inventory specifically for resale are different plans. In its 24 September 2026 explanation, Vinted says commercial selling requires Pro status and must still centre on second-hand goods. It lists Pro availability in France, Italy, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, Portugal, Spain and the UK. A business in a country without Pro availability cannot assume access elsewhere solves that restriction. Source: Vinted commercial-selling Q&A.

Start your research with the market where you are entitled to operate, the account you intend to use and the condition of the inventory. Record those three details before evaluating a supplier. A low unit price is not useful if the planned sales channel does not accept the inventory.

Test the plan against concrete cases

The UK Help Centre excludes new goods purchased to resell, including wholesale and bulk stock, for ordinary and Pro accounts. It also rejects misleading condition descriptions and items offered to order that the seller does not own. Source: Vinted UK commercial-selling guidance.

Proposed activityDecision before sourcing
Order 50 new identical T-shirts to resellDo not build this as a Vinted inventory plan under the reviewed UK rules.
Sell clothing already owned from a personal wardrobeCheck the current catalogue and condition requirements for the actual items.
Operate a second-hand resale businessCheck Pro eligibility in the operating country and the relevant product rules.
Advertise a supplier item and buy it only after a customer ordersDo not treat an external supplier catalogue as inventory you already own.

Brand claims need evidence

Vinted UK's catalogue prohibits counterfeit items and requires sellers to be confident that a branded item is authentic. Its photo rules call for the seller's own images of the actual item. Describing an item as uncertain, “inspired by” a brand, or using a supplier photograph does not replace those requirements. Source: Vinted UK Catalogue Rules.

Keep the sourcing invoice, item identity and condition record together. Those records help you understand what you have; they are not an automatic guarantee that a marketplace will accept the listing. Do not describe new commercial stock as pre-owned to make a business model appear eligible.

Write a channel decision before a purchase decision

A useful sourcing worksheet has an explicit channel field: intended marketplace, country, account type, product condition and rule checked. Add the source URL and review date. If any field is unresolved, pause the stock commitment while you check it with that marketplace.

For a plan outside Vinted's scope, first identify a sales channel whose current rules fit the genuine product and business model. Then evaluate samples, margins and shipping. This site explains procurement and accepts enquiries; a quote here does not authorise resale on another platform. The sample and MOQ guide can help with procurement once the channel decision is settled.
